Ornament Exchange

These are what I made for the three exchanges I am in for Christmas. I have done the stockings, Santa Sacks, mini sweaters, etc. in previous years. I just wanted to do something different. I enjoyed making them, while on vacation in Island Falls, Me.

Blanket For Charity

I'm just about done with this baby blanket. I may crochet around edge if I have time before it goes to United Way Auction.

It was a pattern I downloaded off Bernat site

Christmas Exchange 2005

This is from one of the first group exchanges I was in. I still email with some of my exchange partners today. These exchanges are great to meet new people. I am "slowly" going to try and post my completed projects to this blog.

Summer 2009 Christmas Ornament Exchange

These are my Santa sacks I make. I have knit many of these the past few years. This particular one I put a music box in the sack, that plays Santa Claus is coming to town. I never put skis in the sack before either.

Summer Craft Exchange

I am a craft exchange group and for the summer 2009 the only requirement was it had to have some red, white, and blue. It could be any type of craft we wanted. I decided I wanted to try decoupaging a ceramic tile. I went to H.D. and got the tiles for a quarter, downloaded pic and decoupaged. I then applied the heat resistant lacquer, which is now curing. I think the little Patriotic Angel is sweet. I am not the best photographer, but here they are

Afghan For Walter Reed Hospital

Here is the lap robe I knit up for Walter Reed.

The Latest

I had decided to finish some of my WIP. I dug out the curtains that I had cut for my dungeon while in a sewing class two years ago. The "instructor" had personal issues and we were really not taught too much. I was surprised I pulled them out of the tote bag I had carried back and forth and actually was able to pick up where I had left. I finished pinning them and then finished sewing them. I have them hanging now and I know what I would do differently when I make some the next time. So that is somewhat encouraging. To know your own goofs.

My DH bought home a notice from a veterans association he is in. An affilitate group was asking for afghans, lap robes, or knit squares to the wouned soldiers at Walter Reed. I dug into my stash and did a lap robe. I think it turned out well. I knit using two skeins at once, so it should be nice and warm.

I have been organizing my craft table, which we moved to my dungeon. I have gotten a new Cricut and can not wait until I have a chance to play with it. Soon I hope.

Sadly, work has to come first. Oh well.

My next projects are to finish for the two ornament exchanges I am for this month. I am going to attempt one new thing on one exchange. (keeping fingers crossed)

Celebrate

It is midnight April 16th. Whoo hooo Tax Season is officially over. I only have one more room to Spring clean upstairs. Then I can start cleaning here in the dungeon. Got alot of files to go thru, etc.. Now I am thinking I might move my crafting table down here. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Hopefully, I can go back to deciding what to do with all those granny squares.

Stash of squares

Here is a picture of the granny squares and knit intarsia squares, that I decided to try and use for something. Someone gave them to me and I want to use them. I am new at crocheting, so still looking how to join them and what to make them into in.

Latest Doings

I have been busy with the exchange items and decided to Spring clean now. I should have waited until after my tax season, but I seem to operate better when I got alot of things going on. Go figure. Tax season has been a little hectic. Information was late getting out to the clients, some forms were not released by IRS until into February, and it seems people say they have all their information and I do the taxes and then all of a sudden they remember something else. I think it is just the enviroment of everything going on. Thank God, taxes are done on computers now, not like when I started ~ paper, pencil, and a trusty adding machine. I think my next project is going to use up a HUGE comforter bag of different sized and colored granny squares. I started googling to get ideas what to do with all of them. I did not crochet them, they were given to me.

These are the envelopes I crocheted to mail them in to kind of protect in transit. I am still a newbie at crocheting so was happy with the way they came out.

Etched Mirros Spring Exchange 2009

These are the etched mirrors I made for a Spring Exchange. I crocheted the envelopes to try and protect them in transit. This was my first attempt at etching. Was fun and something I would like to attempt again
